Is solar free? The answer is, no.
It may take hundreds of years for any form of electricity to ever be free. No matter what, if you want a cool home in the summer and lights on at night, you will need to pay for that electricity.
Can you live off the grid and no longer be reliant on a single utility provider and have no electric bill? It’s possible – depending on where you live – but that is not really what we are talking about here. And the fact is, you will still have to pay for something in that off-grid scenario. Solar panels and batteries are certainly not free.
